Dear Antoine Mach,

I am excited to submit my application for the Ethical information analyst as posted on

globalplacement.com. I have completed my bachelors in Sustainable Innovations (Smart Systems
track) at the Eindhoven University of Technology. In addition to the techniques finding sustainable
practices or helping drive innovation in technology, the Smart Systems track provided me with a
background in computer science. I am versed in Java and Python programming languages. My blend
of innovation sciences and computer programming means that I apply the rigor of coding to my
research into sustainability and innovation . One topic I am interested in working on is technology
transfer, I think it is important to find ways to adapt technology developed in the Global North to
developing countries of the Global South. My bachelor thesis was on this topic, focused on the
mining industry in my home country of Zambia. A big part of that was analyzing the Corporate Social
responsibility standards the investing companies set themselves and how well they invested in the
lives of Zambians living near the location of their mines. To what extent they offered learning
opportunities or supported villagers who were affected by the mine’s operations.

I am fluent in English and Dutch and speak basic Italian. As I mentioned previously, one of the main
programming languages I learned was Python so I am familiar with it. I am an easy going and flexible
guy and eager to start applying the skills I learned in university in real-world applications. I enjoy
stage acting so public speaking and presentations is something I’m always happy to do.

Attached is my resume, which further details my skills and background. If there is anything you
require further clarifications on, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I look forward to your response;
thank you for your time and consideration

Sincerely,

Henry van Otterdijk
