International efforts against climate change

The “Paris Climate Agreement” signed in 2016 is the first climate change agreement to reduce
greenhouse gas emissions to prevent global warming, and it is an agreement decided after decades of
international discussions. More than 120 countries, including Korea, UK, France, China, and Brazil are
participated, and furthermore global companies are also taking lead in reducing carbon emissions.

Samsung’s Sustainable Management

As a part of corporate sustainable management, Samsung
Electronics is taking serious efforts in not only developing
eco-friendly materials, but also applying them in the product
development. For example, Galaxy Upcycling, Solar Cell
remote, reduction of energy consumption are the
representative cases of Samsung’s sustainable management.

Samsung Ultrasound is also endeavoring the best effort to help

the environment. We are reducing the use of EPE* foam in
product packaging, and using 20% of vinyl packaging materials
as recyclable vinyl. Moreover, product manuals are provided in

Samsung Ultrasound V7’s packaging has replaced EPE foams into paper packaging through two steps. First, we changed a portion of
packaging material into paper packaging made from recycled paper, reducing EPE usage by 62%, and eventually replacing the entire
EPE foam with paper packaging.
