NEGATIVE DEMAND
1. Dental work where people don’t want problems with their
teeth and use preventive measures to avoid the same.
2. Insurance, which people should have but they delay buying
an insurance policy.

NON-EXISTING DEMAND
1. Farmers may not be interested in new farming methods.
2. College students may not be interested in a foreign language
course.

LATENT DEMAND
1. Initially a phone was used just for calling and texting. As
consumers demanded more and more features like radio,
internet connectivity, touchscreen etc. Began to be added to
the product. Thus, the transition took place from basic
phones to feature phones to smart phones.
2. When the automobile industry was new, there weren’t as
many features in those cars as there are today.

DECLINING DEMAND
1. When CD players were introduced and IPOD came in the
market, the demand for Walkman went down.
2. Packaged drinking water. People have begun to prefer tap
water as it is more environment friendly.
IRREGULAR DEMAND
1. We use an umbrella only in the rainy season but all over the
year umbrella faces irregular demand.
2. Hospitals are often overbooked during the morning and
underutilized toward the end of the day, to meet doctors’
preferences.

FULL DEMAND
1. Medicine always have full demand. Whatever the doctor
suggests, customers buy this. But if Pharmaceuticals
Company reduce or discount on the price of medicine,
customers aren’t ready to pay for this.
2. Arms and ammunition for the protection of the country.

OVERFULL DEMAND
1. Cement industries have limited manufacturing capacity and
hence brand switching in cement industry is high.
2. At the time of any festive, the price of train ticket increase
because of stock created by the sellers.

UNWHOLESOME DEMAND
1. People are aware of the bad effect of the product but they are
still attracted to this. A cigarette is the best example of it.
2. The desire for illegal drugs.
