1. What had Mr. Jones been doing all this time? Mr Jones had been drinking all this
time.

2. What are the names of the two neighbouring farms? The two neighbouring farms were
called Foxwood and Pinchfield.

3. The humans try to start rumours of terrible deeds taking place on Animal Farm. What
sort of thing do they claim is happening there? The humans claimed that the animals
were infected with diseases and had succumbed to cannibalism and attacking
each other.

4. What do ‘Jones and all his men, with half a dozen others from Foxwood and Pinchfield,’
attempt to do in this chapter? Jones and all his men, along with the others from
Foxwood and Pinchfield attempted to reclaim Animal Farm and fight off the
animals.

The statements reveal that the pigs are quite ruthless, just like the humans that they are
rebelling against. Boxer had sympathy for the human he thought he had killed, despite
also being a part of the rebellion.

How do the military decorations emphasise the differences between Snowball and the other
animals?

The military decorations prove that all animals are not equal if some are being awarded for their
actions, and some are not. Snowball receiving this award shows that animalism is being defied
and the ranking of the pigs is above all other animals.
