A reflection on the story of the Filipino episode Empowering PWDs.

After watching this episode, I have come to realize that no matter which part of your body you
lose, it is still your indomitable spirit that will carry you through.

Such as the case of the people in this episode as well as the very empowering story of Dr.
Josephine Bundoc.

Having raised by her father who himself is a PWD, Dr. Bundoc dedicated herself in being a
blessing to others especially those who have given up all hopes of living a normal life owing to their
disability.

Her story alone is an inspiration for others to follow. I can say to a disabled person that he or she
can do a lot more things and still become a productive member of society by trusting their abilities and
putting their faith in God.

The video also featured an interviewee who have nearly given up all hope after losing one of his
legs but is now working to create prosthetics. Truly, the programs that were set in place for disabled
persons made them a useful asset to their fellow PWDs.

A disabled person should not be discriminated. Instead, his skills and abilities should never be
discounted. In my own encounters with PWDs, I made sure their abilities are recognized and their
actions praised.

Dr. Bundoc and her staff are a living testament that one person’s disability should and would
never be a hindrance in achieving one’s dreams. I have seen so many PWDs that are still capable of
doing a lot of things, and this video is solid proof.
