The importance of the communicative competence
in the society
"Communicative competence includes the skills and knowledge that an
individual must have to be able to use language systems that are
available to him to communicate as a member of a socio-cultural
community"

Hi, my name is Juan David Martinez Herrera and I going to talk about
the importance of the communicative competence in the society. I
chose this topic because I think we have all had difficulty
communicating or expressing ourselves with other people, which is
usually a problem that can be solved if we know the basics of
communication, and it is important to know them because we will know
when to talk, when not, what to talk about, with whom, when, where,
and in what way.

Now, we are primarily "social" beings, in the sense that we spend most
of our lives with other people. Therefore, it is important to learn to
understand others and to function properly in social situations. Certain
communication skills help us improve interpersonal relationships.

Communication is an essential tool of people because through it we

can relate to each other, appropriate our human essence, and transmit
it to others. It is a typically social instrument and common to all
humanity, but in some people, it becomes a gift for their individual
characteristics by transmitting ideas to their peers through a fluid,
pertinent and brilliant use of language: they are the so-called Master of
Communication.
By observing nonverbal language and listening to the interlocutor's
messages, it is possible to infer their emotions or messages. A good
communicator is able to anticipate the reactions of others, recognize
them and adapt their communication to them.

Good communicators seek to perfect their communicative skills by

looking at the successes of others and how they have reached them.
One of the resources to learn is modeling, which consists of looking at
another person to imitate their skills and thus learn them. It can be
done consciously or unconsciously.

In summary, communicative competence is a set of skills and

knowledge that speakers of a language possess, and it is important
because it allows society to communicate in it, being able to make use
of that language in speech situations, speech events and speech acts.
