Singular Noun
A singular noun is a word that refers to one person, place, thing, or idea. It is the basic form of a noun and
is used when you are talking about only one item or individual. Singular nouns are the opposite of plural
nouns, which refer to more than one person, place, thing, or idea.

Here are some examples of singular nouns:

1. **Person:** friend, teacher, doctor

2. **Place:** city, park, school
3. **Thing:** book, car, table
4. **Idea:** concept, theory, belief

In sentences:
- "The **book** on the shelf is interesting."
- "My **friend** is coming over later."
- "I saw a beautiful **flower** in the garden."
In each case, the noun (book, friend, and flower) is singular because it refers to one individual item or
person.
