APPLICATION OF PUBLIC RELATION FOR RECREATION AND SPORTS

CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT (100%)

1) INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT (20 MARKS)

Students need to cover up any current issues/crisis related to sports practice. In addition, they
also need to find out/give solutions on how the sports’ organization that is involved in the
games still can handle the crisis in gain/maintain the good reputation. From all the information
that they have, they need to write up three (3) stories/news about the crisis. After that, they
need to compile all the stories/news to be in one bulletin. Your bulletin must be creative and
interesting.

Each of the bulletin must include:


1) Cover page (name of the bulletin, the author, any information that are necessary)
2) Name of the organization that was impacted.
3) One story/news 1 page and 3 paragraph only.
4) The first paragraph must summarize the story/news.
5) Second paragraph your opinion or overview about the issues.
6) Third paragraph your solution or suggestion to handle the issues in keeping the good
reputation of the organization.
7) Some tips (health, exercise, education)
8) Maximum 5 pages beyond this, your assignment will be not read.

Submission Method
1) Submission must be in PDF.
2) Submit 1 copy only either by hand (hard copy) or softcopy. (Depends on the lecturer).

2) GROUP PROJECT (35 MARKS)

“CRISIS MANAGEMENT FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF PUBLIC RELATIONS


PRACTITIONER”. (PENGURUSAN KRISIS DARI PERSPEKTIF PENGAMAL
PERHUBUNGAN AWAM).”

Based on the above topic, students need to organize a seminar/webinar. The guidelines
for this seminar/webinar as stated below:

1) Prepared a proposal. Proposal must consist of:


a) Cover page (Title)
b) Introduction (Objective, purpose)
c) Committee organization chart
d) Host and speakers (CV)
e) Background of the Speakers
f) Tentative
g) Budget
h) TAPA
i) Submission must be in PDF.
j) Submit 1 copy only either by hand (hard copy) or softcopy. (Depends
on the lecturer).

Submission Date:
Week 2 (29/03/24)

Before and during the SEMINAR/WEBINAR;


1) Form a committee member among the students.
2) Identify 2 suitable speakers for this seminar/webinar from Governmental sector and
corporate/PR agency/NGO/private as a speaker in sport/recreation industry.
(Approach them).
3) Prepared the best moderator among all of you.
4) Prepared a set of questions that will be asked/discussed during the
seminar/webinar. (Questions, Opinions/Suggestion, etc.)
5) Prepared online platform (link) or venue (face to face) for the seminar/webinar.
6) Prepare a proposal (TAPA) for this seminar/webinar and form a committee member
to materialize this project.
7) Identify the most suitable date in WEEK 11 and the participants for this seminar.
8) Prepared material (poster) and blast it at any suitable platform (social media, email)
for invitation (Lecturer, Students, Community)
9) Do regular meetings with members for the progression.
10) Prepared feedback form for the seminar/webinar
11) Seminar needs to be done live using FoSRec YouTube channel (optional).

f) Report by the biro then combined it
g) Background of the Speakers

j) Promotion
k) Budget
l) Feedback (histogram/bar chart/pie chart)
m) Recommendation
n) picture
o) Conclusion

4) GROUP PRESENTATION (30 MARKS)

Each group consist not more than 4 members. They need to pretend that they have their
own sport company/organization/factory/store/fitness center. So that, they need to make a
Public Relation’s campaign to gain awareness and educated publics about the important
of the healthy lifestyles. Make sure that your campaign is related to the services/products
that your company/organization/factory/store/fitness center offered to the publics.
Students need to present it by face-to-face during class or send the recording video. Their
presentation must be relevant with the topics given and must be creative.

Slide/video presentation must include:


1) Name of your own sport company/organization/factory/store/fitness center.
2) Sample/target population (front liners, refugee, students, publics, etc.)
3) Types of the campaign. (i.e., Fitness program campaign)
4) Purpose of the campaign
5) The effectiveness of the campaign.
6) Poster/brochure/pamphlet for your campaign.
7) Any extra information that not listed above.
8) Video of your campaign (must do based on your creativity).
9) Recording video or face-to-face presentation must not be more than 20 minutes.
