Guns Germs And Steel Part 3

Africa, it’s been called the Birthplace of Humanity, where our ancestors took their first
steps. Africa used to have kingdoms and civilizations but they vanished with barely a trace. Why
did Certain Places in Africa Such as New Guinea become so different compared to Modern
European Nations? It was Partly because of their Agricultural differences The New Guineans
had only a Few native crops and No native farm animals Compared to the Abundance of
domestic plants and animals in Europe. This Advantage That the Europeans had caused them
to Advance developing Cities Nations and even Colonizing places abroad. Settlers would go to
Places such as the Cape and take over land from others like The Khoisan in 1683, Natives were
driven out of their land and even worse they were affected by the diseases brought over by the
settlers. In Places such as America, Millions of people died from diseases brought by settlers
because they Did not have the same immunity that the settlers did. Through their Farming and
Germs, Settlers had established themselves in South Africa, and from there on they wished to
expand. In the 1830s Pioneers (Dutch Settlers) Moved away from the Cape in order to Conquer
More land and they used Guns to do so. With all their Powers Like Guns Germs and their Ability
to Farm and colonize land they pushed further into the African Interior. Zulus were the authors of
a unique and highly developed African state. Their military might allowed them to overwhelm
surrounding Native African Neighbors. They owned more than 30,000 square miles of land and
had developed a sophisticated economy and society. On the 16th of December 1838, More than
10,000 Zulus fought and outnumbered the Settlers however the Settlers won that battle due to
their Gunpower and Muzzleloading rifles, The Zulus were Massacred. They had been broken
Guns, Germs, and Steel had prevailed. The victorious Europeans kept on moving in their Pace
of Conquest they had an increased development in Technology. Later on, Africans had
developed a Unique sort of tropical Agricultural method that had defeated the European settlers.
In their new Tropical Civilization, they had gained an advantage over the Europeans. When the
Europeans tried to enter their tropical lands they received a taste of their own medicine and
were affected by harmful diseases. The diseases were less effect full to the people of the
tropical world Mainly due to geography Just Like how Europeans were More immune to their
own diseases the same thing Applied to the Africans. But then the Africans had another problem
which was a disease called Malaria but the Africans solved that problem by spreading out over
vast areas that were dry and did not have many Mosquitoes. This limited the spread of Malaria
Transmission. Africans also had one great advantage over Europeans which was their vast
natural resources such as Diamonds, Gold, Minerals, etc. European Conquest in the late 1800s
the Belgiums drove millions of Native Americans from their Village they made them work and
mine minerals whilst destroying their homes and tropical civilizations. They made Africans
laborers for the Europeans. Railroads were built on the ruins of African civilizations to extract
wealth from Africa. The reality of Modern Africa is really bad especially in Places such as
Zambia where the Average Annual income of a person is a few hundred dollars and their
average lifespan is 35 Years. The Guns, Germs and Steels of Europeans had a long lasting Bad
effect on Africa causing them to fall behind.
