Making changes to the original version.
There are 3 main reasons that this might

HOW TO AVOID Once we start a new scope, the first thing we need to do is the
buyout process. Once we have a contract and that milestone is

REWORK? hit, we will follow the next steps:

THE PRE-MOBILIZATION MEETING

1
Before the trade partner mobilizes, we host a meeting where the
requirements and expectations for the trade are explained ahead of
them arriving to the site. This prepares them.

THE QUALITY PRE-CON MEETING

2
Receive what we asked for at the PRE-MOBILIZATION MEETING and
review in detail with the trade foreman. This meeting should be done
1 to 3 weeks before the work starts. Here we set the expectations for
the first portion of work that the crews are going to do and get on the
same page with a quality checklist.

FIRST IN PLACE INSPECTION

3 After the first portion of work is done the crew is hopefully off to
a good start. We use the quality checklists from the pre-con
meeting to inspect the first portion of work, and, if needed, make
adjustments to get them going in the right direction.

FOLLOW UP INSPECTION
4 Inspect the work as the project progresses and ensure
compliance!

1 SET EXPECTATIONS
Make sure that your crews have clear
expectations.

2 COMMUNICATE
Make sure those expectations are
clearly communicated.

3 VISUAL AIDS
Make sure those expectations are visually
seen and used during the installation.

4 INSPECT
Inspect the previously set expectations
as you go.

5 EXTERNAL INPUT
Always have a second set of eyes to make sure
that we don’t have confirmation bias.
