TRAVEL REPORT
Activity II:Training on GERL Assessment Tool, Harmonized Gender and Development
Guidelines and GAD Planning & Budgeting for CY 2025

I. Highlights of the Training/Activity:

Our 5-day training started with a pre-test which was given by our Resource Speaker,
Ms. Marilyn B. Ballocanag. She then presented the orientation on the Gender
Sensitivity such as the sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and sex
characteristics (SOGIESC). It was also presented to us the different features and
elements of the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines or the HGDG
which is a tool used to increase sources of GAD Budget. Several workshops were
being done prior to the preparation of the 2025 GAD Budget. This is to familiarize
each department on the efficient use of the tool. And lastly, she also presented the
GAD Agenda of the LGU which will be the basis in making plans for 2025.

After the 5 day training, the plan of action to be done is to finalize the plan and submit to
MPDO for consolidation and uploading to the GAD Portal.

IV. Recommendations:
To enhance the plan, each department should consider the relevance of the result of the
GAD Agenda being presented not to ignore the mandates of each office. Updated data
could be of great help in the updating of any plan. Moreover, continues identifying gaps
that need to be addressed and regularly evaluates the plan to make improvements and
adjustments as needed.
