 What is a curriculum?
A homeschool curriculum is a collection of lessons/resources that
you use to teach your child at home. Curricula can vary from online to
free to subject by subject. The curriculum is used as a guide to assist
you with teaching your child what they need to know at each grade
level in each subject. The curriculum you choose is up to you. You have
to find the one that fits your family and your lifestyle. Some curricula
can be complete or all-in-one which means it includes all the subjects
and materials needed to teach your child. Other curriculum options
may be based on each subject. So, you will need to either choose a
curriculum for each subject or select a complete curriculum in order to
teach your child all the required subjects.

What subjects should I teach?

The basic subjects include reading, writing, mathematics, science,
and social studies. You may also include other subjects such as
vocabulary, spelling, grammar, geography, art, physical education,
health, and history. Your state may have specific guidelines for
subjects that you are required to teach. Check your state guidelines or
your home school association to be sure you are covering all the
subjects that are required for your state.
