By the end of the lesson, pupils can:

1. Scan the text and complete the table using the information from the text.
2. Discuss and justify at least one question related to charities.

TEACHING AND LEARNING ACTIVITIES

1. Teacher activates pupils’ prior knowledge by asking pupils to talk in small groups about the most adventurous
activity or things that they have done.
2. Teacher draws pupils' attention to the main picture on the page and ask them to tell what they can see (a man in a
glass box hanging from a crane with people watching from below).
3. Teacher asks pupils to guess why he might be doing this (to raise money for charity), if they find it unusual, etc.
and elicit answers.
4. Teacher asks pupils to read through the text and underline any unknown words at the same time. (Student’s book
22 Activity B)
5. Teacher asks pupils to look at the table and complete it with information from the text.
6. Pupils do the activity. (Student’s book 22 Activity C)
