2. Experimental setup

The experiment system had been developed as shown in Fig. 1.


It consists of three parts: a jacket–piles–soil system, an electric
servo loading system, and a sensor and data acquisition system.

shown in Tables 2 and 3.

2.2. The electric servo loading system

A high-precision electric servo loading system that mainly consists


of an electric servo hydraulic actuator, a driving controller, a computer
and controlling software is set up to simulate the marine environ-
mental loads. The stroke, the maximum velocity and the maximum
load of the hydraulic rams are 0.35 m, 0.2 m/s and 50 kN, respectively.

3. Finite element models

The dynamic response of the model jacket platform is


described by a second-order matrix deferential equation as follow-

The ABAQUS software is used to solve Eq. (2). The main
members of the scale jacket were modeled using BEAM element
(Fig. 2). In general, the soil stiffness is highly nonlinear for PSI
problem because soil has not only the viscous damping but also
the radiation damping. There are three ways could be used to deal
with PSI: the lumped parameter model, the equivalent pile
technique, and contact element method (Dongfeng et al., 2015).
