Dear Melissa Villa,

Congratulations on being selected by the Graduate Scholarship Committee to receive a Graduate Equity
Fellowship award in the amount of $2,000.00 for the 2023-2024 academic year. It is our hope that this
fellowship will contribute to your success in obtaining a graduate degree, not only financially, but also
scholastically.

Please be aware that the amount of your award was based on the amount of your financial need as
determined by the Financial Aid Office at the time of awarding. If your need should change, the Financial
Aid Office may reduce your award accordingly. Also, please note that any graduate or teaching
assistantship, not yet factored into your financial aid budget, will be taken into account. You will be
notified by the Financial Aid Office concerning the disbursement of your award.

A required orientation for new participants is scheduled for Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 3:00 p.m.
via ZOOM. If you know this date will not work for you, please make arrangements with Ronald
Dzerigian to make up the orientation at a later date. Enclosed is the Agreement of Participation. Please
note the deadline. During the orientation, we will outline the rest of the requirements, expectations, and
additional questions that accompany your award. If for any reason you are unable to accept this award,
please contact Ronald Dzerigian at the Division of Research and Graduate Studies

Additionally, your certification packets have been included in this notification email. Please save them for
future use.
