Newham Partnership Working Vacancy Bulletin 8 .17
Newham Partnership Working Vacancy Bulletin 8 .17
Thank you for subscribing to our vacancy newsletter. Please see below the various teaching &
support roles that are available in Newham this week.
The quality of education provided by Newham schools continues to improve; 85% of nursery
and primary and 86% of secondary pupils currently attend a school that was rated “good” or
better at its most recent inspection. Educational attainment is also rising steadily for Key Stage
2 and GCSE results.
As a teacher in Newham you will have an opportunity to make a real difference and to develop
your own professional skills and expertise. We recognise that this belief demands a serious
commitment to teachers and we demonstrate it by providing the maximum help for the
professional development of our staff.
For new teachers career prospects are excellent with high starting salaries and good
opportunities for promotion. Ofsted said: “The scheme to support newly qualified teachers is
good”, and praised the support for professional development of all teachers.
You would also be joining an innovative borough. Newham pioneered the concepts of
teaching assistants, baseline assessment and inclusive education – all of which are now
central to the national drive for improved achievement.
How to apply:
Applications for positions are invited from experienced teachers, newly qualified teachers
(NQTs) and support staff. Instructions on how to apply are posted on each advert.
Applications should include a supporting statement, giving full personal and professional
details along with the details of two referees. One referee should be your current employer.
For NQTs one reference should be from your most recent teaching practice school and the
other from your initial teacher training provider. For teaching posts visits to the school are
recommended before applying. NQTs are also welcome to apply to the Newham NQT Pool.
