Snowflake flower

Materials needed:

Crochet thread of your choice and a matching crochet hook.

Yardage: app. 30 – 40 yards

Notes
Pattern is written using U.S. Terminology.
The Snowflake flower pattern consists of 9 rounds and of four levels:
 The stamens
 Narrow petals
 Large petals
 Bottom leaves

If you want to make a brooch from this snowflake., you can also crochet a circle that covers the
back.

Crochet skill level is advanced.

It is better to crochet from yarn that holds shape well in the finished product. From soft yarn, the
Snowflake will also be soft. Starching or similar processing may be required. If you crochet
loosely, it is better to crochet with a thinner hook.
Join most rounds with a sl st in the top of beginning stitch unless otherwise noted.
Active links to videos are marked with different color and underlining
Groups of stitches are marked with  and (underlining name in parentheses)
Pattern repeats for each round are marked with (
*) and different color.
Additional repeat is marked with  stars  after the main repeat

To move from level to level, use slip stitch (sl st). Check the number and exact
location of the slip stitches with your crochet. Focus on where you need to be
using these slip stitches. The diagrams indicate the approximate direction and
number of slip stitches.

For rows crocheted on the right side, the direction of crocheting is blue. For rows
crocheted on the wrong side, the direction of crocheting is pink.

Work 7 FPsc in the center of the leaf over the connections of dcs and FPscs or BPscs.

Starting from the second leaf, connect the lower spikes. For this, a small change in
Row 1: (Wrong Side) ch 7, turn, sl st 1 in “picot” on the spike of the previous leaf.
Further unchanged.
With this change, continue to crochet to the last leaf.
In the last leaf, similarly crochet the spike at the beginning of row 2.

In total, repeat [Row 1 – Row 9, Row 10 (leaf vein) and Row 10 (to next leaf)] 6 times.
The circle

The size of the circle depends on the size of the brooch pins, if you want to make a brooch from
this snowflake. This part should cover the sewing part of the pin.

Round 1 Make a magic ring. Ch 3 (counts as first dc), work 11 dc into ring, join — 12 dc.

Round 2 ch 3 (counts as first dc), work 1 dc in same st as join, *work 2 dc in next st*
around, join — 24 dc.

Round 3 ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc 1 in same st as join, work 2 dc in next st - rep 4

times, dc 1 in next st, * work 2 dc in next st - rep 5 times, dc 1 in next st* around, join
— 44 dc.

The amount of dcs for a flat circle may be different for different threads and crochet density. For
some threads, more dcs are needed, for some less. Therefore, in this case, the number of dcs is
just a recommendation.

Round 4 ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc 2 in next st,

*dc 1 in next st, dc 2 in next st* - rep
around, join — 66 dc.

Cut thread, fasten off, weave in all ends, and block.

Congratulations! Your Snowflake flower is ready!
