I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the learners should have:

1. Define myth and fallacy.


2. correct the myths and fallacies about health.
3. participate actively in class activities and discussions

III. Procedures:

A. Daily Routine
- prayer
- greetings
- checking of attendance

*Guess the gibberish – There will be words that are in gibberish. To know the
answer the students will think of a word or phrase that is exactly has the same
sound as the words provided. They will be given 5 seconds to look at the words
before answering.

b. Fallacy – A mistaken belief, especially one based on unsound argument.

“IM TOO YOUNG TO WORRY ABOUT HEART 1. Childhood and Teen lifestyles influence
DISEASE.” the risk of cardiovascular disease.
2. Heart attacks can also occur early, since
obesity, type 2 diabetes, and other risk
factors are more common at a younger
age.
“A DIABETES DIAGNOSIS MEANS YOU 1. In order to keep it under control before
AUTOMATICALLY NEED INSULIN” insulin comes a requirement, certain
forms of type 2 diabetes require proper
diet, exercise and oral medications.
“EATING TOO MUCH SUGAR CAUSES 1. The body does not usually respond to

triggered by genetic and lifestyle

lead to weight gain and higher chances
of developing the disease.

D. Analysis: “MYTH OR FACT”

There will be a color wheel. Inside of the color wheel are the names of each
students. The wheel will be spinned and the name that will come up will answer the
present question.

1. Jumping during the midnight of new year’s eve will boost your height. MYTH
2. Eating the right kind of diet will make your body strong and may immune the
body to diseases. FACT
3. Stepping over a sleeping child will halt their growth. MYTH
4. When a woman is pregnant stepping over her husband will transfer all the
“paglilihi” event. MYTH
5. Exercise daily will make you feel better and will make your body stronger. FACT

SHORT SKIT: Leaders will draw from the box their scenario. Students will be going
to their respective groups and discuss on how they will present the following scenarios.
1. “Eating ants will give you great singing voice”
2. “Sleeping with wet hair causes blindness”
3. “Sucking on your pricked finger so the blood can re-enter your body”
V. Assessment/ Evaluation

Criteria for judging the group performance:

5 claps if the performance is excellent


3 claps if the performance is very good
1 clap if the performance is good

1. What are the agencies responsible for the Prevention and control of
Communicable and non-communicable diseases?
