We were invited to participate in Virtual Reality arranged by Ericsson at our

university. As a pre-service teacher, it was a great opportunity to experience
this kind of one-day seminar. They not only provided us with free food from
morning to afternoon snacks but also imparted valuable knowledge on the
future of education. Before we used their virtual reality gadget, they first
explained its functions and features to guide us in navigating it and to avoid
unnecessary losses or damages. Seeing my classmates being frightened by
the faces of students made me anxious, as I became more curious about what
they really looked like. Some of my classmates had a hard time using its
functions because it was our first time. I think that made it funny because we
were still too innocent about how it was done.

I tried using the VR twice because in my first try, I did not see the students and
was not able to conduct a lesson with them. I am too small and couldn’t see
the classroom very well. I think it's because of the setup. In my second try, I
saw their faces, but they looked too old and didn’t smile, making it creepy. I
hope they can improve that. Whenever I remove the VR headset, it feels like
I’m still in the virtual classroom, and it doesn't feel right.

Moving on, today's experience allowed me to look at the possible setup of

education in the future. Since we are in a technology-driven era, it is highly
possible that virtual classrooms will exist and become a normal thing to do.
This experience helped me gain knowledge on what virtual classrooms will
look like and how to use a VR gadget.

Every time we deploy to our partner school, the university holds a 'patnuro'
session with the students to give them tips, encouragement, and lectures on
how they should behave during the training. It is reassuring to be informed
before the deployment.

We have been lectured on how to behave properly during the practice

teaching. If you think about it, this kind of information is not a big deal because
it's actually a normal thing to do. But what sets it apart is that we are pre-
service teachers, and there are rules and protocols to abide by as we embody
the role of professional teachers. We had the chance to discuss some
sensitive topics regarding how to respond to our students. The talk was
interesting and fruitful because of the questions being raised.

In the second session, we were just refreshed on how CBAR (Classroom-

Based Action Research) should be done during our deployment. The speaker
ran through the different parts of it, including questions and answers. This was
also a good talk as it equipped us with knowledge on what we are going to do.

Overall, Patnuro Day 1 was successful as I gained a lot of knowledge that I will
surely utilize during my practice teaching. I am just hoping that the guidance
given to us will be enough for us to produce good CBAR results and give us a
fruitful experience.

Due to the large number of practice teachers, the 'patnuro' session is divided
into two venues: one onsite and the other online. For the second day of
'patnuro,' our program was assigned online.

On this day, our speakers shared some experiences of practice teachers

inside their schools and gave reminders on how we should behave in their
schools. Another speaker talked about the requirements, grading system, and
explained the different roles.

After the 'patnuro' session, our supervisors from San Francisco High School,
Mr. Carlo Ramos, and from Ramon Magsaysay High School, Ms. Portia
Soriano, called us for a meeting. They discussed communication etiquette,
attendance, proper decorum, lesson planning, pedagogies, schedule of visits,
CBAR, auxiliary services, and grand demo preparations. It was a quick
meeting to ensure we know what to do before our deployment.

In summary, this day was also successful, and we had fruitful discussions with
different speakers, including our supervisors. I am now feeling excited and
nervous at the same time.
