PASSIVE VOICE

1. Change these sentences into the Passive Voice:


Susan accepted the job because she needed the money.

Sandra writes beautiful poems.

They made breakfast in the morning.

The children are visiting the museum during the trip.

The teacher puts a lot of homework.

I can recommend the film to Robert.

The doctor has seen the patients today.

We will eat pizza on Friday nights.

REPORTED SPEECH

2. Change into Reported Speech:


a. “We are using the computer now, you can’t use it” she said.

b. “This concert will be fantastic” he said.

c. “I have seen this film two times” she said.

d. “You must arrive on time or we’ll go” he said.

e. “The exam takes place in this room on Tuesday” she said.

f. “We can do the homework in the library today” he said.

i. “Where will you be in 2030?” she asked.

j. “Do you understand this text?” he asked.

k. “Can your father help me with my homework?” she asked.

m. “Will you hand in the project next week?” he asked.

n. “Have you ever seen a famous person?” she asked.

o. “What can you do this afternoon?” he asked.

p. “Be quiet at night” he told me.

q. “Don’t move from here” she told me.

r. “Don’t smoke inside the house” he told me.

s. “Clean you bedroom” she told me.


RELATIVE CLAUSES

3. Join the sentences with a relative pronoun. Make changes in pronunciation and omit the relative:
a. The singer of this band is very famous. He lives in England.

b. France is a very beautiful country. There are famous monuments there.

c. I can’t find the CD. You lent me it yesterday.

d. This is the church. We got married here.

e. Brad Pitt has got five children with Angelina Jolie. He is a famous actor.

f. I love this TV programme. It is about trips.

g. I’ve lent John a book. You recommended it to me.

h. Mr Jones is the teacher of Maths. He is very serious.

i. Sara is very sad. Her mother is in hospital.
