INVITATION TO APPLY FOR THE TRANSPORT EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP

FOR FLIGHT OPERATIONS OFFICER COURSE FOR THE
ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/2024

The National Institute of Transport (NIT) is implementing the East Africa Skills for
Transformation and Regional Integration Project (EASTRIP), funded by the World
Bank, to support skills development in the Region. Through this project, the National
Institute of Transport (NIT) is pleased to invite qualified Tanzanian students to apply
for twenty-four (24) full scholarships for the Flight Operations Officer Course for the
academic year 2023/2024. The scholarships are offered based on some criteria,
including the applicant's outstanding academic achievement, leadership potential,
financial need, applicant's career goals, motivation, and integrity.

1.0 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The applicant must: -
(a) Be a Tanzanian citizen;
(b) Be between 21 to 25 years old at the time of application;
(c) A Graduate with a Bachelor Degree in Logistics and Transport Management
with passes in science subjects at advanced certificate of secondary
education examination (ACSEE);
(d) Have admission letter to pursue Flight Operations Officer Course at NIT;
(e) Submit relevant evidence of financial need (only for needy applicant)
(f) Submit a recommendation letter from two (2) referees familiar with his/her
academic achievements, character, and personality;
(g) Submit a motivation letter that demonstrates personal/professional goals,
reasons for applying the Transport Excellence Scholarship, contribution of the
applicant (Innovation, talents, skills, leadership potential) and financial need
(maximum 500 words).
(h) Submit certified copies of original academic transcripts and certificates in
relevant fields, Valid National ID/Passport as well as birth certificate;
(i) Submit a Curriculum Vitae (CV) (maximum length of 1 page);
(j) Not be beneficiary of other scholarship awards; and
(k) Female applicants are highly encouraged to apply.
2.0 APPLICATION TIMEFRAME
(a) The Scholarships will be open from 17th November, 2023 to 3rd December,
2023 at 23:59 hrs.
(b) Successful applicants will be notified within one week from the closing of the
application.

3.0 HOW TO APPLY

Applications must be submitted online through the Online Scholarship Application
System (OSAS) at https://scholarship.nit.ac.tz through the following processes:

Step 1: Register online through the scholarship link on the Institute's website.
Step 2: Login using your registration details to access the application form, fill out
the required information and attach the prescribed supporting
documents.
Step 3: Submit online the completed application and supporting documents in
PDF format.

NOTE: The application for the Transport Excellence Scholarship and the
application for admission are two separate procedures. It is the
applicant’s responsibility to manage both procedures in parallel and pay
for all charges required to complete the application and admission
process.

ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/2024

The National Institute of Transport (NIT) is implementing the East Africa Skills for
