AT the end of the SGA ( Day I and Day 2), the student should be
able to:

1. Surface mark: C7 and L5 vertebral spines, interspinous level of L3 –


L4 vertebral level.
2. Identify and describe parts of a typical vertebra
3. Identify and describe typical cervical, thoracic and lumbar,
vertebrae
4. Compare and contrast typical and atypical vertebra of each region
5. Describe primary and secondary curvatures
6. Describe Sacrum and coccyx
7. Describe anatomy of Intervertebral disc
8. List and describe vertebral ligaments:
- Anterior/ posterior longitudinal ligament/Interspinous/ supraspinous ligament/
Ligamentum flavum

9. Describe Intervertebral joints

10. Discuss movements of vertebral column, regional differences


in mobility + elicit on living body.
11. Identify the radiological anatomy of vertebral column -plain
radiographs of cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine- AP /Lateral

12. Discuss applied anatomy of the Vertebral column
