I.Company Background
A quick service restaurant chain based in North America is called Tim Hortons. With a menu that includes
premium coffee, hot and cold specialty drinks (including lattes, cappuccinos, and espresso shots), specialty
teas, fruit smoothies, fresh baked goods, grilled Panini and classic sandwiches, wraps, soups, prepared
foods, and other food items, Tim Hortons, which was founded in 1964 as a single location in Canada, caters
to a wide range of consumer tastes. There are more than 4,700 Tim Hortons locations worldwide, including
those in Canada, the United States, and other countries.
HISTORY
1964 - Tim Horton, a National Hockey League Legend, opened the first store in Hamilton, Ontario Canada.
1967 - Tim Horton and Ron Joyce, the first franchisee, become full partners.
1974 - Tim Horton passes away and Ron Joyce establishes the Tim Horton Children's Foundation (THCF) to
honour Tim's love of children and desire to help the less fortunate.
1976 - The Timbit is introduced and a Canadian icon is created.
1981 - Muffins and cookies. Our bakers get busy and create something new to dunk in your coffee.
1984 – The first U.S. location opens in Tonawanda NY, allowing Canadians to make cross-border coffeeruns.
1986 – The first Rrroll Up the Rim to Win promotion has Canadians everywhere rolling up the rims of their
cups and hoping for a win.
1997 – Canadians are treated to Tims newest bevies with the introduction of flavoured lattes
1999 – Tim Hortons Iced Capp hits the scene. Canadians everywhere chill out.
2000 – The millennial year sees another milestone as the 2000th restaurant opens in downtown Toronto
2004 – Double Double goes from pop culture vernacular to bonafide vocabulary when it makes it into the
Canadian Oxford dictionary. What a way to celebrate 40 years!
2014 – Tim Hortons celebrates its 50th anniversary, paying homage to its humble roots by recreating the
original restaurant, complete with 1964 prices, in Yonge-Dundas Square in downtown Toronto.
2017 – After more than 50 years of serving and bringing smiles to Guests in the Great White North, the
iconic Canadian Tim Hortons® made its way to the Philippines. Filipinos can now enjoy Tim Hortons®
premium coffee, freshly baked goods, delicious sandwiches & wraps, and other food products.

II.Corporate Social Responsibility

Tim Hortons Board of Directors assumes accountability for the success of the enterprise by taking
responsibility for the management in both failure and success. Its overall intent is to maximize long-term
shareholder value, ensure that the Company conducts its business in a highly ethical manner, creates an
environment that respects and values all employees, and promotes corporate responsibility. Specifically,
the Board's responsibilities include:
• Approving a corporate philosophy and mission
• Selecting, monitoring, evaluating, compensating, and - if necessary -replacing the CEO and other senior
executives, and ensuring management succession
• Providing guidance for, reviewing and approving management's strategic and business plans, including
developing a depth of knowledge of the businesses being served, understanding and questioning the
assumptions upon which such plans are based, and reaching an independent judgment as to the probability
that the plans can be realized
• Reviewing and approving the Company's financial objectives, plans, and actions, including significant
capital allocations and expenditures
• Reviewing and approving material transactions not in the ordinary course of business
• Monitoring corporate performance against the strategic and business plans, including overseeing the
operating results on a regular basis to evaluate whether the business is being properly managed
• Ensuring ethical behavior and compliance with laws and regulations, auditing and accounting principles,
and the Company's own governing documents
• Performing such other functions as are prescribed by law, or assigned to the Board in the Company's
governing documents. The Board's goal is to be a strategic asset of the Company. It must constantly ensure
that it has the right people, addressing the right issues with the right information in a culture that
stimulates teamwork.
Tim Hortons Board - in a spirit of continuous improvement - will consistently be assessing its performance
against governance "Best Practices" and hold itself accountable both as individuals and as a Board for
adhering to the highest standards of board professionalism and performance.

provides clients with high-quality goods while also working hard to acquire their emotional trust by paying
close attention to what its brand stands for. Due to Canadians' apparent affinity for regional names, Tim
Hortons most likely also gained additional points. Consumers gain from the high quality and diversity of the
products offered. The advantage of a value-priced menu is the chance to satisfy customer preferences. By
this the company’s overall mission and visions statement are greatly emphasize And this is of its assets on
why the company’s current situation are on its peak.
