Self-management, which is also referred to as ‘selfcontrol’ or ‘self-regulation’, is the ability to regulate one’s emotions,
thoughts, and behaviour effectively in different situations. This includes motivating oneself, and setting and working
towards personal and academic goals.

Self-Management refers to management of or by oneself; taking of responsibility for one's own behavior and wellbeing.
It also means managing yourself with the people and resources around you. It aims at conducting oneself for the greater
good of the individual, family and the society.

awareness. The importance is that it is the first skill required towards being a self managed person.

Ans- After becoming aware of one’s weakness we should treat it as an area of improvement and work on it so that the
weakness does not become a hindrance in achieving our goals in our lives.

Ans- Positive thinking requires a person to look at the good in things, observe, understand and patiently work towards

• helping you get better at work, and

• making you and people around you happy.

Ans- Grooming is the process of making yourself look neat, tidy and smart. The way you dress, and groom can either
send the message that you are confident, smart and sincere or possess opposite qualities.

Dressing and grooming are important because they help us

• make a good impression of ourselves

Q- Give few guidelines that one should follow when he/she is getting ready for school/office.

Ans- Guidelines are-

• Clothes should be clean, neat, and ironed

• Shoes should be clean and polished

• Change socks everyday and always wear clean socks

• Keep accessories like belts, jewellery, etc., simple

• Simple hair styles and well combed hair gives a smart look
• Face looks clean if you shave regularly

• Moustache should be neatly trimmed

• Teeth should be kept clean, without any stains
