As desired, detail of activity required to be carried out for conversion of CASNUB 22 NLB
bogie to CASNUB 22 HS bogie is enclosed. The cost as well as sources for supply has been mentioned .

ANNEXURE-I

Procedure for conversion to CASNUB 22 HS bogie

1. Bogies should be taken out.

2. Both the ,bogies should be dismantled.

3. Bolter needs to be machined to increase the'gap of outer gib from 234 to 241 mm and to reduce
side bearer housing seat by Imm. (off-set between centre pivot seat and side bearer seat to be
increased trom 15mm to 16mm).

4. The spigots on bolster and' spring plank needs to be removed and new spigots as per drawing
needs to be fitted.

5. The side bearer housings needs to be removed and new spring-loaded side bearer housing RDSO
Drg. No. 92093-SIl needs to be fitted.

6. The bogies, are then required to be assembled. Packing of 3mm is required to be placed on
spring plank below the suspension springs.

7. After assembly of bogies with wagon body, it needs to be ensured that side bearers take 90% of
load. It can be checked by measuring height of side bearer springs. In case, load is less or more,
the same may be adjusted by adjusting the shims, which are provided on under frame side bearer.

Sub'~ NLB Bogie to HS Bogie.

The following work is required to be carried out for converting CASNUB 22 NLB Bogie
to 22 HS Bogie:-

1. CASNUB 22 HS suspension springs to WD-92058-S/5 with packing of 3mm


below springs may be provided or 3mm packing may be welded at bolster spring
seat surface. It may be ascertain that the spring characteristic the as per design.

2. NLB Bolster to Drg. No. WD-89067-S(4 and spring plank to drg. No. SK-69594.
Can be used with the following modification:-

a) The outer gib lugs of bolster that are 234 mm apart are to be machined by
3.5mm each to increase the gap to 241 mm or all the four side frame
columnsides may be machined by the same amount to achieve a leteral
clearance between bolster & side frame 12.5mm on either side (clearance
of CASNUB 22 BLB is 9mm on either side)

b) Spigot on bolster & spring plank may changed according to Drg. No WD-
92058-S/3 & WD-92058-S/4 respectively.

c) "' Existing side bearer housing is required to removed & spring loaded side
bearer to WD-92093-S/1 to be assembled~fter machining of side bearer
seat by 1 mm. Another option left is to remove Imm shim from under
frame side bearer.
