My day
Teacher’s notes
Growing and learning with Fun English!
Fun English is a six-level course for 6-12 year olds with
2-3 hours of English a week.

Hand out photocopies of the My Day worksheet, sheets of card,

scissors, brass pins and glue. The children colour the activity chart
and the clock, and cut out the hands. They stick the activity chart
and clock onto card and attach the hands on the clock, and the
thicker hand on the activity chart, using the brass pins. In groups
they use their ‘charts’ to show each other the times they do the
different activities.

Extension activity
Play What time is it Mr Wolf? The ‘wolf ’stands at one side of
the class / playground with his back to the rest of the class. The
class creeps towards him chanting: What time is it Mr Wolf? The
‘wolf’ suddenly turns round, saying a time. If he sees someone
move they are ‘out’. If he shouts: Lunchtime! the children run
back to the start and the wolf tries to catch them. If a child is
caught, they become the new ‘wolf’.

Give your pupils an excellent start in English!
Excellent is a new four-level course for 7-11 year
olds with 3-5 hours of English a week.

Pupils refer to the chart and complete the sentences at the

bottom of the page.

In their notebooks, pupils create a similar chart about

themselves. They write sentences saying how old they are,
and what they like and don’t like.

Pets Teacher’s notes
Simple to use and fun to teach!
New Stepping Stones is a four-level course
for 6-10 year olds.

1 Find 10 pets
a Pupils look at the word square on the worksheet, find the
name of the ten pets and circle them.

b Pupils tick the names of the pets on the list as they find them.

2 Write
Pupils read the questions and write the answers in the
spaces provided.

3 Extension
a Ask various pupils ‘ Have you got a pet?’ Pupils answer
‘Yes’ or ‘No’.

b When pupils understand the question and can answer

satisfactorily, encourage individuals to ask the person sitting
next to them the same question.

c Set up a chain of such questions and responses going

around the whole class, i.e. P1 asks P2 ‘ Have you got a pet?’
P2 answers “Yes’ or ‘No’ and then asks P3 ‘ Have you got
a pet?’ etc.

4 Vocabulary games
a Game 1: Spell the name of one of the pets, eg ‘D-O-G’. Pupils
say the name of the pet, ‘dog’. Repeat with other pets.

b Game 2: Stand at the front, clearly visable to the class and

silently ‘say’ the name of one of the pets. Pupils have to guess
the pet, using the movement of your lips as their cue, and say
the name of the pet aloud. Repeat with other pets.
