INTRODUCTION
Arduino, an open-source electronics platform, provides a user-friendly and cost-
effective solution for creating interactive systems. By leveraging Arduino's capabilities,
researchers have been exploring the potential of automating classroom processes, such
as lighting, electric fans, and temperature status.
In many school classrooms, students frequently leave electrical appliances (such
as lights and fans) running even after they have exited their respected classrooms. This
behavior not only consumes unnecessary energy but can also increase the risk of fires.
Traditional manual methods of shutting down appliances are often ineffective due to the
forgetfulness of the students. As a result, there is a need to implement an Arduino
system that intelligently manages classroom appliances, automatically turning them off
when there are no present individuals.
This research study aims to develop an arduino-based automation device
designed to alert school officials when an appliance is left open or running, with the aim
of reducing the risk of hazards such as damage to school property or harm to students.
The device will notify the school's officials of any open appliances that are left open or
running, and in the event of no response, it will automatically shut off the open
appliance and send a notification to the school official indicating that the appliance has
been turned off.
This study focuses on creating a device to improve school safety by alerting
officials when appliances are left on. However, there are limitations. The device's
effectiveness may vary depending on sensor accuracy and how quickly it responds. It
might also struggle with technical issues or power failures. Additionally, whether people
follow safety rules could affect how well the device works.
Implementing Arduino automation sensors in educational settings offers a
streamlined solution to the common problem of students leaving electrical appliances
like lights and fans on. These sensors provide significant benefits such as reducing fire
hazards by automatically turning off unattended appliances, promoting energy
conservation through efficient usage, streamlining monitoring efforts by providing real-
time data, enhancing overall safety by preventing accidents, and aligning with
environmental responsibility by minimizing energy waste. The long-term advantages
outweigh these challenges, making Arduino automation sensors a cost-effective and
efficient choice for creating safer, more sustainable learning environments.
