Vessels Particulars:
The modelling of the Cargo Handling Simulator CHS - LNG/C is based on a vessel with
double hull and double bottom.

Liquid lines are cooled down prior to berthing at the unloading terminal.

Using No. 4 spray pump.

Scenario Description Vapour generated/displaced from the crossover piping passes through the liquid header,
the spray bypass and return valves of No. 1, 2, 3 and 5 cargo tanks.
 Vapour from the tanks are burned in the boilers using the L/D compressor and
L/D heater.
Initial Condition  Cargo tanks cool-down (lines) and discharging exercise mode
EXERCISE PROCEDURE
 Confirmed that the assigned tanks to be used are correct.
 Line up Cool down by liquid line by ship. On completion of line-up,
proceed with line cooling.
 Line up Discharging. Adjust discharging rate by setting the control
set point for cargo pump load controller (SCC) to keep about 11,000
m3/h.
Line up for ballasting operation after commencement of
discharging.
Trainee’s Action trainees are to:
– condition
– set up the lines
– start up the relevant equipment
– carry out the cargo tanks cool-down (lines) and discharging operation
– note the changes in the cargo tank atmosphere/level, etc. as the operation
progresses
final cargo tanks level.
