AWS Partner: Accreditation (Technical)

Transcript for Introduction to Your Course Experience video

Hey, everyone. I'm Morgan Willis, Principal Cloud Technologist at AWS, and I want to
welcome you to AWS Partner: Accreditation (Technical).

Let’s talk a little bit about why you’re here, and what you will learn, as well as how to
navigate this training.

This learning experience is intended to empower you to be familiar with AWS concepts and
the AWS Management Console so that you can make recommendations and informed
decisions from a technical perspective. After going through this training and successfully
passing the accreditation assessment, you will earn your accreditation badge.

Let’s walk through what the experience will look like before we get started.

We are currently on the course landing page. The first learning activity that you will complete
is the AWS Technical Essentials course. This course familiarizes you with the console and
covers fundamental AWS concepts related to compute, database, storage, networking,
monitoring, and security. This course takes an average of 4 hours from start to finish, and it’s
designed to give you a solid technical foundation so you can competently work with AWS.
These digital courses can be completed at your own pace, and progress is saved even if you
need to pause your learning.

When you’ve finished learning about essential AWS services and common solutions, you will
come back to this landing page to continue your learning.

Once you’re done taking AWS Technical Essentials, you will come back here for the next
training topics. We will build on what you learned in Technical Essentials and introduce three
additional topics to prepare you for taking the assessment.

The additional training covers: the AWS Cloud Adoption Framework, or AWS CAF, an
introduction to migration strategies, and then the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

Each topic will be presented in video format, supplemented with additional resources if you
want to learn more.

The order of learning starts with CAF first. By having an understanding of how CAF leverages
AWS experiences and best practices, you will be positioned to digitally transform and
accelerate your customer’s business outcomes on AWS.

After CAF, the next topic is about migration strategies that can be valuable for your
customers. Customers who are migrating a workload to AWS cloud, will need to choose the
migration strategy approach that best fits the workload. As an AWS Partner your ability to
articulate the strategy that best fits their situation is key.

After you are comfortable with common AWS migration strategies, I will then introduce the
AWS Well-Architected Framework. Using the Well-Architected Framework helps you learn
architectural best practices for designing and operating secure, reliable, efficient, cost-
effective, and sustainable workloads in the AWS Cloud.

We’re keeping at a high-level for each of these topics, but if you ever need more training
there are additional resources at the end of this course that can help support your customer
engagements and conversations.

At the end of this training there will be an assessment that covers all the topics you’ve
learned. This includes the material in AWS Technical Essentials, AWS Cloud Adoption
Framework, common migration strategies, and AWS Well-Architected Framework.

Successful completion of the assessment will earn you an accreditation badge for AWS
Partner: Accreditation (Technical).

You will encounter some knowledge checks throughout your learning as a way to reinforce
the material. I want to emphasize that it’s the Accreditation Assessment that is at the end of
this course here that will be counted towards your badge. Think of the other knowledge
checks as practice, where you can test your knowledge before taking your final assessment
here. Have fun learning and I will see you in upcoming videos.
