Chicago is located in the state of Illinois in the Midwest of the United States. More specifically, it is in
the northeastern part of Illinois, on the shores of the southwestern end of Lake Michigan.
The blue stripes on the chicago flag represent the sides of the chicago river: the north branch and
the south branch. The four red stars symbolize significant events in the history of Chicago, e.g. Fort
Dearborn.
Fort Dearborn was intended to protect U.S. commercial interests in the Midwest.
The surface of the Cloud Gate is made of polished stainless steel, which gives it its characteristic
luster. The material reflects the surrounding cityscape and creates an interactive experience for
visitors
The name "Cloud Gate" is meant to represent heaven and earth, demonstrating Chicago's urban
environment.
Navy Pier is one of Chicago's top tourist attractions, welcoming millions of visitors annually.
Including restaurants, shops, theater, an amusement park called "Navy Pier Park", as well as boat
rides on Lake Michigan.
The library is located in downtown Chicago in the neighborhood known as The Loop.
It houses more than a million volumes, including a vast collection of books, and digital resources.
