Why should we protect children’s privacy
online and reduce their digital footprints?
● Digital footprints have become increasingly complex and now
encompass a host of our online history
● Posts and now public information will follow children long
after it is shared
● Digital footprints cannot be erased and are becoming easier
for all to access
● May affect children's future job opportunities, relationships,
privacy, and reputation as they get older
