1 Assistant Video Editor for Packing/Finishing

NYT Opinion video is hiring a freelance editor to package Op-Docs locked films files for digital
distribution. Candidates must have a deep knowledge of working with Adobe Premiere. Design
and typography experience is a plus. English proficiency is required. This is a freelance job with
great flexibility. Packaging tasks include:

● Adding subtitles to films that are not in the English-language

● Working with MOGRTS to add graphics and a graphics packages to films for online
distribution
● Occasional work making cutdowns of raw footage
● Working with basic normalization of audio levels
● Potential to work in making DCPs for cinema output.

2 Thumbnail Designer
NYT Opinion Video is looking for a freelance artist and designer to create eye-catching
thumbnails for YouTube and other platforms on a regular basis. We are looking for a creative
designer with elegant and digital tastes. Basic knowledge of English language required. Adobe
Photoshop and/or Illustrator software skills required. This is a freelance job with great flexibility.

3 Motion Designer and Illustrator

NYT Opinion Video is looking for a freelance motion designer and illustrator for animating
infographics and creative visuals to help transform our stories. Basic English language skills
required. Software skills must include Adobe AfterEffects or DaVinci Fusion. Cinema 4D skills a
bonus.

4 Color Corrector
NYT Opinion Video is looking for a freelance finishing editor for color grading of short digital
videos and films. Editor must have basic English skills and fast internet speeds to move large
files online. Adobe Premiere and/or DaVinci Resolve software skills a must. This job is project to
project.

5 Sound Mixer
NYT Opinion Video is looking for a freelance sound engineer to mix and master sound for short
digital videos and films. Editor must have basic English skills. Adobe Premiere and/or ProTools
software skills a must. This job is project to project.
