Digital Usage Conditions

1. Recording Online Classroom Activities:

a. All classes taught online will be recorded by the teachers for online learning purposes.
While attending online classes with RYI, be aware that the possibility exists that you will
be seen and heard in the class recording when asking or answering questions, and that
your instructor may address you by name during class.
b. Under normal circumstances, only those students studying in a class, their teachers, and
RYI administrators have access to the recorded content of the class. However,
occasionally RYI may wish to offer some class material over the Internet to outside
participants. This is most likely to happen when a class taught by a Tibetan Khenpo is
streamed for outside participants, or when a portion of a class is offered online for the
purposes of demonstration.
c. If RYI wishes to share class materials which include images or voices of students with
outside participants or for promotional activities, and your image or voice is part of
those, then your permission will be requested at that time.

2. By joining your class Team and attending online classes you acknowledge that as part of your
normal participation in class, your voice, image, name and profile picture will be heard or appear
online inside of your classroom team environment, as noted in item 1.a, above.

3. If you do not wish to be recorded, either with audio or video, as part of the normal operation of
the class, and for purposes as noted in item 1.a above, please inform your teacher that you are
opting out of the opportunity to ask questions in class and be aware that it is your responsibility
to properly manage your camera and microphone during all lessons to ensure that your voice or
image are not recorded.
