► BREATHING SYSTEM

The respiratory system is the group of tissues and organs in your body that allow you to breathe.

The job of your respiratory system is very simple: to bring oxygen into your body (breathing in) and

remove the carbon dioxide from your body (breathing out). Your body needs oxygen to survive.

When you breathe in (inhale), your lungs draw in oxygen, a gas in the air that we need to live. The
oxygen is then sent through the blood to all parts of your body, where it gives energy to your cells.
As the cells use oxygen, they make carbon dioxide, a waste gas. You breathe this gas out when you
breathe out (exhale).

● Breathing In: We breathe in using a muscle called the diaphragm. When we breathe in, air gets

forced through our nose or mouth, down our trachea (windpipe), and into bronchi tubes in our

lungs.

● Breathing Out: When we need to breathe the carbon dioxide out of our lungs, the diaphragm

bows up and pushes the air back out, getting rid of the carbon dioxide. This makes room for

fresh air with new oxygen to come back in on our next breath.
► CIRCULATORY SYSTEM

The circulatory system is one of the most important systems in the body. Made up of the heart, blood

and blood vessels, the circulatory system is your body's delivery system. Your heart plays and

important part in being healthy. It keeps all the blood in your circulatory system flowing. Blood helps

oxygen get around your body.

The body's circulatory system is responsible for transporting materials throughout the entire body.

It delivers nutrients, water, and oxygen to your billions of body cells and carries away wastes such

as carbon dioxide that body cells produce.

At the center of this system is the heart, an amazing organ. Its job is to pump blood and keep the

blood moving throughout the body.
