4. a) Briefly explain why;

(c) A wooden block of mass 4kg is placed on an inclined plane as shown in the figure

of a lead – acid accumulator.

8. (a) Explain with aid of diagram how a gold leaf electroscope could be negative ly

(b) State three applications of the principle of moment

the E.M.F and the internal resistance of the battery.

(c) Explain why clinical thermometer is not realized into boiling water?
10. a) Distinguish between:
i. Regelation and anomalous expansion of water.
ii. Boiling and evaporation (provide four points).
b) Describe the structure and the mode of action of a hygrometer.

c) Use the figure below to determine the critical angle of an ice.
