Statement Purpose:
Objective of this lab is to navigate through the Command Line Interface (CLI) of Ubuntu and
understand the Linux directory structure using basic Linux commands.

Activity Outcomes:
Students will be able to
● Use Linux Command Line Interface with basic commands
● Navigate and understand the Linux directory structure

Instructor Note:
The Virtual Machine created in the previous lab shall be in a running state.

Introduction:
Command Line Interface (CLI) is a console window that allows users to interact with the
operating system. Users type commands on a specific line and receive a response back from the
system. In Ubuntu, the CLI is called terminal.

Task 1: Practice basic commands studied and used in the lab


Task 2: Practice some basic commands that are not included in the lab or lab manual.

Assignments:
Attach screenshots of CLI outputs of basic Linux commands practiced in home task 1 and home
task 2.
