To Whom It May Concern,

I have known Nicole Nguyen for nearly 4 years now, and during that time she has made
an excellent impression as a student. Through her diligence, discipline, determination,
intelligence (both academic and emotional), as well as her respect and empathy for others, she
has proven that she is one of the top few students that I have encountered during my career as an
educator. I strongly recommend this student for your program, and I know that she will prove to
be an asset.

During AP Physics, I frequently require my students to discuss various phenomena or

justify their answers to problems in their groups, and every time that I would approach Nicole’s
table, I always noticed two things. She would always ensure that her group remained on task,
despite having a very talkative group, but also that she was extremely articulate with her
thoughts. If any member of her group did not understand what a problem was asking, she would
always find a way to phrase it in a way that they could understand. Her passion for education and
empathy for others overflows into each of her actions, and will carry her far considering that she
will be pursuing a career in the medical field.

Extracurriculars are no stranger to her, as she has been a part of multiple clubs including
FBLA, Speech and Debate, Orchestra, Cranes4Merced, Math Club, Medical Professionals Club,
and Asian Cultural Club. However, there is one that she is the most passionate about: our local
Leo Club chapter. She is currently the president of this club, and during her time there she has
helped lead and design multiple fundraisers that contribute to worldwide efforts, such as the
Turkish-Syrian Earthquake relief fund efforts. Nicole’s empathy for others extends far beyond
the classroom, but her determination and grit ensures that her dreams to help others becomes a
reality.

Again, I strongly recommend this student, as they are absolutely amongst the top few that
