METHOD STATEMENT MECHANICAL

C) All products shall be delivered in
manufacturer's original protective packaging.
D) All products shall be inspected at the
time of delivery for damage and for compliance with specifications.
E) Repair or remove any product found
damaged or not in accordance with the specifications immediately from the site
and replace. For repair undertake the Company's Representative's approval before
the proposed action.
F) Handle and store products as
recommended by the manufacturer, approved under Project Manufacturer's List, to
prevent damage and deterioration.
G) Store each pipes & fittings, stack and
handle into the final location in such a manner, and by such means, that affords its
total protection from damage. The manufacturer's recommendations shall be taken
as the minimum requirement.
H) Protect the products against damage
and the ambient conditions both during transport, site storage and immediately up
to the time, the products are installed. Protect the products from mechanical
damage and the effects of sunlight and heat, until the backfilling / casting
operations have been completed. All site storage areas shall be shaded.
I) Consider all safety aspects when
locating, planning and constructing piping’s and fittings stacking areas, and while
stacking pipes.
7.1.1 Approved Manufacturer:
Procure all goods and products covered in these Specifications from manufacturers
listed in the Project Manufacturer's List, as applicable.

5.2 Execution/ Installation:

7.1 .1 PIPES & FITTINGS:
a) General Installation:
 Stainless steel pipe ANSI 304 L or better shall be used for Oxygen,
Nitrogen, & Helium gas line other embedded piping services (Processed
chilled water as applicable or as per the approved material. See Table 1.
As attached.
 Selection of pipe sizes and wall thickness shall be based on the services
applicable or as per the approved materials and approved drawings.

METHOD STATEMENT MECHANICAL

 The stainless steel tubes must be clean, particle free, and oil free
according to ASTM G-93.

 Sufficient clearance (3D of pipe diameter) shall be provided from the

concrete re-enforcement, to ensure the proper insulation application.

 Pipe support shall be fixed in the concrete re-enforcement to avoid

movement during and time of casting.

 End caps or blind flanges at the end openings must be installed directly
after cleaning to avoid dirt inlet during and after mounting.
 After a partial completion of the piping or system, checking shall be
done according to the system location, invert level, type sizes of material
installed according to the latest approved shop drawing and other
recognized reference document.

b) Joints / Connection:
 Joints on all permanently concealed pipes shall be welded. At
dismantling points or where the pipe work is connected to an appliance,
flanges shall be used or any approved substitute.
 The number of welded connections must be kept minimum to avoid
stresses in the pipelines.
 Minimum two long radius elbows shall be used on the embedded water
pipes to provide cooling water in all electrical rooms, the cyclotron pit
and the beam line area. Reference BID 5.15.2 page 35 of 72.
c) Insulation:
 Embedded piping shall be insulated with a fiberglass board with a sheet
metal cladding / a vapor barrier or as per approved materials. As shown
in Table 1. Proton Therapy Center Embedded pipes.
 All joints or connection shall be open until the leakage test will be done.
d) Leakage TEST / CLEANING:
 All pipes shall be clean and leak tested.
 Leakage test pressure shall not exceed the material pressure rating or 1.5
times the working pressure rating.
e) Vibration Damping:
 Vibration damping shall be installed according to the system
requirements or as per the approved materials. See Table 1. Proton
Therapy Center Embedded pipes as attached.
