Reading:

The exercises in the Cambridge reading tests seek to know if you know and
understand grammar and vocabulary.
It is made up of 6 exercises with a total of 32 questions.
The reading is worth 25% of the total exam grade and there are 45 minutes to do it.

Some of the reading exercises can be:


 Multiple choice: There are 3 options but you have to choose only one option
that best describes the text you have on your exam.
 Matching: They can give you 5 short descriptions of someone and 8 short
texts, you have to match each person with a text.
 Gapped text: In a long text they can remove 5 sentences, and they give us 8
sentences to choose from to fill those 5 spaces, so there are almost always 3
left over.
 Open cloze: This is a long text with 6 spaces to fill in with your own words.

To prepare:

 It is very important to read a lot in English. You can read different types of
texts like: books, newspapers or blogs every day to improve your reading.

 Read the instructions before answering the exercises.

 Learn the vocabulary: Remember that in this part they also evaluate your
ability to know the vocabulary. Also, knowing different words will help you
understand the texts better and deduce the words you don't understand.

 Measure your time: The Reading part has several parts so it is important
that you measure how much time you are going to give to each part. Also, it
is important to take a few minutes to reread your answers.
