Question 10 - 14
Questions 10 to 14 are based on the given passage. Read the
passage and choose the best answer A, B or C.
Soon after you hear the first kernel pop, it’ll go poptastic in the pan with
popping at a crazy rate before it finally calms down.
When the rate slows down a lot and it’s just occasionally, you’re pretty
much finished. Turn the heat off and take the lid off (we find if you leave it
on moisture gets onto the popcorn).
So that’s the actual popcorn sorted. You could flavour the popcorns by
sprinkling it with a little salt, or a little sugar. Or both.
Or grab a small saucepan, 60g of light brown sugar and 40g of butter. Melt
it all over a low heat until it bubbles away for a few minutes. Pour over the
popcorn (be very careful as it’ll be really hot). Wait for it to cool a bit for a
couple of minutes but not too much.
A. 40 g
B. 60 g
C. 100 g
11.How long must you heat the pan, before adding the popcorn?
C. A couple of minutes
12.Why must we take the lid off after the popcorn has stopped popping?
05
14. Which statement below could be used as a title for the text?
A. Homemade popcorns.

Question 15 -20
Questions 15 to 20 are based on the following texts. Read the passage
and choose the best answer A, B or C.
Rugby
(Adapted from https://kids.kiddle.co/Rugby_union)
Rugby is a ball sport. Two teams of 15 players play against each other. The ball used is oval
in shape. The field is a rectangle shape. It is 100 metres long and 70 metres wide. At the
ends of the field are two H-shaped goal-posts. The game is played for 80 minutes in two
40-minute halves. Players score points through 'Try', penalties and 'drop goal'. The rules of
the game is that the ball can only be passed sideways or backwards and only players with
the ball can be tackled.
Tennis
(Adapted from https://www.ducksters.com/sports/tennis.php)
Tennis is one of the most popular individual sports in the world. In tennis, the player uses a
racquet to hit a ball over a net into the opponents court. The ball must be kept in play and
can only bounce one time on the court surface before the opponent must strike the ball
back over the net. The standard ball is made up of felt over hollow rubber. Tennis is often
played with one player per side (singles) or with two players per side (doubles). The area in
which tennis is played, is called a court. The size of the court differs depending on whether
it is a singles or doubles match.
Golf
(Adapted from https://www.ducksters.com/sports/golf.php)
Golf is an individual sport played by hitting a ball with a club from a tee into a hole.
Players have to get the ball into the hole with the least number of swings or strokes
of the club. The playing area for golf is called a golf course. Each golf course is made
up of a number of golf holes. Usually 18 holes, but some courses only have 9 holes.
At the end of the course all the strokes are totaled and the golfer with the fewest
number of strokes wins.
