Modular/Online Distance Learning

B. OBJECTIVES
a. To ensure the continuity of learning process despite the absence of face-to-face class.
b. To ensure that students acquire the necessary competency in time of distance learning.

SHS Grade 11 students (11-Palma, 11- Abad Santos, 11- Del Pilar, 11-Lapu-Lapu, 11-Aguinaldo)

II. NARRATIVE REPORT

The Department of Education (DepEd) announced the suspension of face-to-face classes in all
public schools nationwide on Monday and Tuesday, April 29-30, 2024, due to the heat index forecast of
the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) and the
announcement of nationwide transport strike therefore all public schools nationwide shall implement
Asynchronous Classes/Distance Learning.

In response to the heat index forecast leading to the suspension of regular face to face classes, the
faculty, and students of Bahay Pare National High School quickly adjusted by arranging modular/online
learning sessions. The goal was to offer continuous learning experiences to students while prioritizing their
safety and health during the extreme weather conditions.

On April 29, 2024, the day began with the Homeroom Guidance class of 11-Palma from 6:30 am to
8:00 am, where the teacher shared a self-learning module titled "High Five: Factors in Sound Decision
Making." Following this, the Statistics and Probability session for 11-Lapu-Lapu from 8:00 am to 9:30 am
featured self-learning modules focusing on "Determining the Minimum Sample Size Needed for
Estimating the Population Mean." Later, in the Basic Calculus class of 11-Abad Santos from 11:00 am to
12:30 pm, students engaged with self-learning modules centered on "Implicit Differentiation." Lastly, at
1:00 pm to 2:30 pm, the students of 11-Del Pilar received self-learning modules on "Determining the
Minimum Sample Size Needed for Estimating the Population Proportion." Alongside these modules, video
lessons were provided for all sections to aid understanding. Afterward, students were instructed to
complete the activity cards for each module. Throughout the day, teachers monitored student progress and
addressed questions and inquiries regarding the lessons through group chats.

On April 30, 2024, the day began with the Basic Calculus class of 11-Palma from 6:30 am to 8:00
am, where the teacher shared a self-learning module about the chain rule of differentiation. Following this,
in the Statistics and Probability session for 11-Aguinaldo from 8:00 am to 9:30 am, students received self-
learning modules focusing on "Determining the Minimum Sample Size Needed for Estimating the
Population Mean." Later in the day, from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, the students of 11-Del Pilar engaged with

self-learning modules on "Hypothesis Testing" in the Statistics and Probability class. Finally, at 4:00 pm to
5:30 pm, the students of 11-Abad Santos received self-learning modules on "Antidifferentiation."
Alongside these modules, video lessons were provided for all sections to aid understanding. After
completing the modules, students were directed to answer activity cards. Throughout the day, teachers
monitored student progress and addressed questions and inquiries regarding the lessons through group
chats.

In summary, the asynchronous classes for Basic Calculus and Statistics and Probability on Day 1 and
Day 2 were successful even without in-person sessions.
