In Order Not to Regret It

People often regret it in hindsight. On the contrary, regret means that almost everyone regrets the

past, to the point that there are few people who do not do this. I am one of them, and I live with great regret

for not being good to my grandfather, a member of my family, in the past. This story began when I was

born and continues to this day.

My grandfather greeted me every time I visited during New Year's Day or Chuseok. He also put the

dried sweet potato snacks that he had hidden in his hands and cared for me very much. But I was so young

that I was too distracted to play with my cousins to spend time with my grandfather. Even my grandfather

said, "Come and sit with me, Yuri. Do you want to play with Grandpa?" But I realized that my actions were

wrong after I was separated from my grandfather forever. I began to feel guilty and regret that I hadn't been

good to the person I cared about for a while for the sake of happiness rather than the person who cared about

me the most.

Regrets don't change the past, but I decided to take care not to repeat them. I decided to

live my regrets with a heart of gratitude and respect for my grandfather.
