A Reaction Paper on Midnight Sun by Eric Kirsten

By Scott Speer

This paper examines the movie entitled “Midnight Sun” by Eric Kirsten. Living with a rare
illness while also showing the transformative power of love and self-acceptance.

The film is important as it follows a real-life disease and also represents a teens curiousness
and their eagerness, they have to explore the world and how as teens can feel trapped.

The movie challenged me emotionally. She’s at her happiest when all things collide in just a
snap of a finger. Upon watching the movie, I realized how special our life is, I have a lot of
complaints in life not realizing how blessed I ‘am among others just like the problem on the
movie, Katie is sick who suffers from a condition that prevents her from being out in the
sunlight while I get the chance to have a life and a freed which I never realized as blessings
and I will be forever grateful about it. I love haw the author made up the story and chose to
involve the importance of life, because the movie makes a brilliant point to tell us that its
important to move on and continue to embrace life, teaches me to live by faith and enjoy every
single moment of my life because I will never know what will happen in the future or who I will
lose.

I can say that the movie is not just a romantic but an emotional type that touches my heart
because the character has courage to pursue love despite difficult circumstances. If you enjoy
heartfelt romantic dramas, you might find “Midnight Sun” to be a compelling to watch.
