Interview with a vulnerable beneficiary

Name: Abdul Ahmad
F/Name: Khoja Ahmad
District: Argo
Village: Tureq
ID No: 1649943
PHO/No: +93 707310127

He was so tired, and he somehow came to

the site from far away to traverse the
process of food distribution and got
assistance. While he received the food
commodities, he adopted a corner and
sounded heartsick as he watched the
process.

Therefore, I have slowly moved through

him, and, as deferential, I sat near him to
ask some questions regarding his family’s
lifestyle. The first question I asked him
was about his current state. He patiently
answered me, I am fine, and you?" He
also knew me from my uniform, as I had
covered the process.

So, I requested him to introduce

himself and explained to me how
many times he obtained the aid and
how he added the process of food
projects in this district. Hence, he
introduced himself as Abdul Ahmad.

Abdul Ahmad currently lives in Tureq village of Argo district. He is 61 years old, and he had
thought and excited that how to support his family. Moreover, Abdul Ahmad is truly not able to
work due to physical weakness as he is forced to go out to fine money in order to care his family
sate. Further, he has 5 daughters and 4 sons.

His daughters have been married, and his 21 age’s son is a daily worker on people’s agricultural lands
or in the markets to support his family’s expenses.

A couple of months ago, while Abdul Ahmad was working in a hall, he dropped from a long height,
and consequently, he broke his leg and his hand. So, afterwards, Abdul Ahmad understood that he
was not capable of going out to work, and there was one option: his biggest son should cover his
family.

Thus, the process of Retargeting MODA survey got started in various districts of Badakhshan
province, and fortunately, Argo, among other districts, had been covered by the SFL organization to
implement the programme of USSP-GFD there, and Abdul Aziz was known as a vulnerable
beneficiary in the process.

It’s the second round that Abdul Aziz has accessed the WFP assistance, as I conducted an interview
with him and he declared that” since I have been added and identified as an eligible recipient in the
process of food distribution, I strongly can say that the WFP aids that I have received monthly have
solved the main concerns of my life, and it was so hard for me to prepare food in order to feed my
family.

As a result, Abdul Ahmad was so appreciative and satisfied with the SFL/WFP cooperation to
improve the food security and nutrition situation of Badakhshan people, especially Argo societies,
and he granted that such vital projects mitigated poverty among the people to help eliminate hunger
and food insecurity besides, improve the opportunity for young child feeding.
