I . Introduction.
There is a proverb that says "Travel broadens your mind". With this spirit in
mind, in our third year at Dong Nai University studying English language, our
school organized a 4-day, 3-night field trip to Dalat to provide opportunities for
students to practice and hone their skills and professional knowledge. We were
able to listen to experts speak about business activities and organization of various
companies, and through this experience we were able to discuss and exchange
knowledge to improve ourselves.
Dalat is known as a dreamy city with many valuable architectural heritage
sites that are considered a museum of 20th-century European architecture. It has
abundant natural and cultural resources, is a diverse religious center with the
presence of hundreds of temples, churches, and monasteries, is a region rich in
agriculture with special products such as vegetables and flowers, and is a center for
education and scientific research. The field trip left a lasting impression on the
students, and we were able to gather a lot of useful practical knowledge.
The field trip achieved its purpose: it expanded our knowledge in both
specialized fields and practical skills, and spending 4 days together helped the
class to bond and become more loving, caring, and supportive of each other, and
more united.
II. Overview Of The Company And Foreign Language Center Visited

1. Viet My group:

a. History of VMG.
Established in 2003, the Vietnam-America Education Group currently
manages and owns the "Vietnam-America English Language Training System" in
Dong Nai, HCMC, and Da Nang. With over 15 years of experience in English
language training in the Vietnamese market, the center understands the limitations
of learners and was the first unit to implement a program to advise and guide
learners on their language ability, learning goals, and to save time and costs. With
the motto "Teach for real - Learn for real - Real quality," the center will provide
the best experience for its students.
1
b. Business activities .
In the coming years, the Vietnam-America Education Group will continue
to expand its operations and improve its system of English language schools in
provinces and cities throughout the country. VMG will invest in and develop a
comprehensive training system from preschool to high school, college, university,
postgraduate, and participate in the publishing industry, modern teaching
equipment business, and other educational fields to aim towards the goal of
making Vietnam-America a leading education organization in Vietnam.

c. Organizational chart.
5 parts:

2. Thuy Thuan Tourist Company.

a. Company activities
Thuy Thuan Tourism Site in Dalat was established in 2009 and has been
developed and expanded over the past 15 years. Previously, this location was just a
coffee production factory owned by Thuy Thuan Dalat Co., Ltd.
In 2013, it was an honor to be the first factory in Vietnam to supply 70% of its
production to Starbucks.
In 2018, the company expanded its coffee production business to combine
with agricultural tourism.
Recognizing the potential for tourism activities, in 2020, the owner of the
coffee factory invested in building additional facilities for worthy photo
opportunities. With its beautiful natural scenery and trendy check-in spots, the site
has become a famous tourist destination attracting a large number of visitors every
day.
2
b. Classification and explanation of the coffee production process at the
factor.
Classification of popular coffee types:
+ Arabica (coffee tree).
This is the most popular type of coffee and accounts for 70% of the total
coffee growing area in the world. It is known for its characteristic aroma, mild
aftertaste, and average caffeine content of 1.3%. It is often used for roasted coffee
and can be elevated to specialty coffee by special processing methods. It originated
from the Jimma-Ethiopia plateau and includes varieties such as Typica, Bourbon,
Moka, Catuai, and Cartimo. Brazil is the largest producer of Arabica coffee.
+ Robusta (chalk coffee)
This is the second most popular type of coffee, especially beloved by
Vietnamese people, and is known for its strong and bitter taste. It has the highest
caffeine content among the three types of coffee, ranging from 1.5% to 3%, and
originates from the Congo River region in West Africa.
+ Chari-Chery (mit coffee)
This is a less popular type of coffee with a sour taste and less aroma, and a
caffeine content of 1.02% to 1.15%. It originates from the Biển Hồ region near the
Sahara dessert.
+ Catimor coffee in Lam Dong
Catimor is a hybrid of Timor coffee (which is a hybrid of Arabica and
Robusta coffee) and Caturra. Its taste can be described as "seductive" because it
combines the mild sourness of Timor coffee with the sweet and gentle taste of
Caturra coffee. With low caffeine content, Catimor coffee is not as bitter as pure
Robusta coffee, but still retains its own unique flavor.

III. Activities Of The field Trip.

1. Team Building.
Upon arriving in Bao Loc, the group had a 30-minute break before gathering
in the backyard of Memories Hotel. The group was split into four teams for the
event, which included four games. The first game was called the "Survival Game,"
where teams had to search for and peel pomelo fruits. The second game was the
"Longan Fruit Game," where teams competed to pass longan fruits using only
spoons and cups. The third game was a banh trang eating contest where pairs of
contestants raced to finish the rice paper without using their hands. The fourth
game was called "Loving Couples Pass the Egg," where teams had to pass eggs
from face to face without breaking them. Each broken egg incurred a penalty of
10,000 Vietnamese Dong. The final game was the "Three-board Race," where
teams had to move together on three boards of varying sizes to reach the finish line
as quickly as possible. The afternoon was full of energy and excitement, and the
group had a great time participating in the games.

2. Camp Fire.

7
At the campfire, everyone gathered in a large circle and held hands. The
teacher then stood in the center and shared valuable insights that we should
cherish, followed by a ceremony to light the campfire. That moment seemed to
have left an unforgettable impression on me, allowing us to reflect on ourselves
and appreciate every encounter and loved one in our lives.

3. Fashion And Dancing Show Around The Fire.

After lighting the campfire, each class began their prepared performances
related to the campfire theme of the day. It was also the first time we confidently
walked around the campfire, despite feeling a bit nervous and excited. It was an
enjoyable experience for me, and I was impressed by how meticulously each class
prepared for their performance. Some participants were outstanding and exuded
confidence during their performance. I was particularly impressed not only by their
fashion sense but also by the dance moves around the campfire. It was a beautiful
display of unity, love, and teamwork, and it left a lasting impression on me.

8
4. Cooking Contest.

After the fun around the campfire, there was a cooking competition. The
teacher gave each group 30 minutes to prepare their dishes, and everyone was busy
with their tasks. Some were cutting fruits, while others were grilling or preparing
drinks for a grand feast. Everyone was trying their best to showcase their cooking
skills and win the competition for their team. Through this event, we learned new
and delicious recipes from our friends and enjoyed the fruits of our labor together.
It was a great opportunity to bond and create lasting memories with each other.
5. Barbecue.
After finishing our meal, we cleaned up the cooking utensils to start the next
fun activity. The music was turned up, and everyone danced and sang along until
late at night. The atmosphere was lively, and classes merged together to dance and
bond with each other, linking arms and swaying in unison. Some groups took a
stroll together to share their joys and sorrows in life. It felt like we were no longer
separate individuals but part of a larger community, all coming together as one.
6. Walking .

9
At six o'clock, we woke up and had a plan to gather at Xuan Huong Lake and
walk to Lam Vien Square. The weather in Da Lat was chilly, and at first, I didn't
feel very comfortable. But as we walked halfway and breathed in the fresh
morning air, I began to feel more relaxed and energized. Although I had never
walked such a long distance before, chatting with my friends made me forget how
many minutes had passed. As we walked, we observed souvenir shops and
meticulously decorated restaurants, promising to visit them later to buy the most
beautiful gifts for our loved ones. When we arrived at the square, we danced and
sang together, kicking off a new day full of energy. Through that morning, we
learned that taking care of ourselves and our health is each person's responsibility
to develop into a well-rounded individual.
IV. Eating And Drinking Places Check In.

1. Thuy Thuan Coffee.

Before checking in at Da Lat, we stopped by a famous coffee shop called
Thuy Thuan. I think the reason why this place is famous is because it is very
beautiful and has a characteristic fresh atmosphere of the area. Branded as a tourist
destination combined with coffee, Thuy Thuan showcases the diversity of
decoration and scenery surrounded by the majestic mountains and forests of Da
Lat.

2. Banh can.
Capturing the street food of Da Lat, who are often looking for new local
dishes, we decided to enjoy banh can together in Da Lat and capture memorable
moments to share with us. friend. With the typical flavor of banh can and various
fillings, the hot cakes made us excited and satisfied. In addition, we also
experienced the vibrant street atmosphere of Da Lat and enjoyed a variety of
dishes at local eateries. Photographs also help us to preserve great memories of our
trip.

10
3. Lambiang.
Langbiang is a mountain located in Dalat, a popular tourist destination in the
Central Highlands region of Vietnam. Climbing Langbiang Mountain is a popular
activity, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Along the way,
there are several rest stops with cafes and souvenir shops. At the top of Langbiang
Mountain, there are views of the surrounding valleys, lakes, and forests. There are
also several attractions at the summit, including a statue of a couple from a local
folktale and a small temple.
V. Lessons Learned.

1. Benefit of the field trip.

This field trips offer a range of benefits for individuals and groups. They
provide an opportunity for experiential learning, allowing us to engage in hands-on
activities that extend beyond the traditional classroom setting. This type of
learning can help individuals better understand and retain information by
experiencing it firsthand. Field trips can also expose individuals to new
environments, cultures, and experiences that they may not have encountered
before, broadening their perspectives and helping them develop a deeper
understanding and appreciation for the world around them.
In addition to the educational benefits, field trips can also facilitate team
building and social bonding among participants. Collaborating on tasks, exploring
new places, and shared experiences can all help to build stronger relationships and
improve communication and problem-solving skills. Furthermore, field trips can
promote personal growth and development by providing challenging experiences,
exposure to new ideas and perspectives, and opportunities to step outside of one's
comfort zone.
Finally, field trips can reinforce concepts taught in the classroom and help to
bring those concepts to life. By seeing real-world examples and applications of
what they are learning in the classroom, individuals can gain a deeper
understanding of the subject matter. Overall, field trips can be a valuable and
enriching experience that provides a range of benefits for participants..

11
2. My strong points and my weak points.
During my trip to Da Lat, I realized that despite having gained knowledge
from my education, my soft skills in communication and teamwork were lacking. I
found it difficult to integrate and interact with new friends due to my shyness.
However, the trip provided me with an opportunity to gradually improve these
skills and build new relationships within the classroom and school.
On the other hand, I discovered that my strength lies in my independent
skills, which are maximized when individual tasks are assigned. I always pay close
attention to the schedule and never arrive late, as I prepare in advance by
organizing my clothes, personal belongings, and even setting an alarm when
sleeping. This level of preparation allows me to regulate everything and ensures
that I am always punctual.
Overall, the trip to Da Lat helped me to identify my strengths and
weaknesses, and provided a valuable opportunity for personal growth and
development. By building on my existing strengths and improving my soft skills, I
can become a more confident and well-rounded individual in the future.

3. Lessons learned from the field trip

The lesson that can be learned from my trip to Da Lat is that the knowledge
we gain from textbooks and formal education is only the foundation that we can
reference. To truly develop ourselves, we must continuously learn and apply
practical knowledge in real-life situations.
In addition, I learned that having strong soft skills, such as communication
and teamwork, is crucial for success in various situations. These skills enable us to
effectively integrate into any assigned team and work collaboratively with team
members towards a common goal. Thus, it is important to not only focus on
technical skills, but also on our personal and interpersonal skills.
By taking this lesson to heart, I hope to continue to develop myself and
become a well-rounded individual. I will strive to improve my soft skills and apply
practical knowledge in various situations, both in academic and personal settings.
This will help me to achieve my goals and be successful in my future endeavors.

12
Another important lesson that I learned from my trip to Da Lat is the value of
stepping outside of our comfort zones. During the trip, I was placed in situations
that were unfamiliar to me, such as interacting with new people and participating
in team activities. Although it was challenging at first, I realized that pushing
myself to try new things and take risks allowed me to grow and develop in ways
that I wouldn't have otherwise.
I also learned the importance of adaptability and flexibility in different
situations. While preparing for the trip, I made sure to plan ahead and be
organized, but there were still unexpected events and changes that occurred. By
being able to adapt to these situations and adjust my plans accordingly, I was able
to overcome challenges and make the most of the experience.
Overall, the trip to Da Lat taught me the value of continuous learning,
stepping outside of our comfort zones, and being adaptable in different situations.
These lessons are not only applicable to travel experiences but can also be applied
to various aspects of our lives, such as professional development and personal
growth. By embracing these lessons, we can become more resilient and successful
individuals.

4. Recommendation.
To encourage the next class to participate fully in activities and arrive on
time, I would like to remind everyone that the trip is a great opportunity to learn
and bond with classmates as well as students from other classes. Overcome
shyness and actively participate to experience a truly enjoyable and memorable
trip.
In addition, to make the trip smoother, we should prepare our equipment
thoroughly and follow the school's regulations. Especially since this is a practical
training trip, please try to participate fully in activities and adhere to the schedule.
However, I have noticed that many students often stay up late, which leads to
being unable to wake up early in the morning and being lazy to participate in
activities. To solve this problem, I suggest encouraging students to schedule an

13
early bedtime so that they can wake up refreshed and fully participate in morning
activities.
Furthermore, I would like to propose some activities to connect and bond the
students in the class. For example, participating in cultural events or festivals in
the area. These activities will help students socialize, bond, and build better
relationships with each other.
Finally, I would like to suggest changing the meal menu to avoid boredom
and dissatisfaction. There are too many unappetizing dishes, leading to food waste
and excess.
VI. Conclusion.
In conclusion for the field trip, I want to emphasize that it was a memorable
and beneficial experience for all the students who participated. The trip helped
students to learn about the practicalities of work and experience life in a foreign
place, as well as enhance their teamwork and communication skills.
Moreover, the trip also helped students to bond, create better relationships
with each other and with the teachers. The networking activities during the trip and
the recreational activities helped students create unforgettable memories and add
more joy to their lives.
However, we also need to learn from the difficulties and challenges
encountered during the trip in order to improve for future trips. We need to
increase our preparation and adhere to regulations to make the trip smoother.
In addition to the proposed ideas, there were also other highlights during the
trip. For example, the field trip also helped students to discover and understand
themselves better, thereby helping them to determine their career direction and
choose a path that suits their interests and abilities.
The field trip is an opportunity for students to experience a new environment,
face challenges and difficulties, and develop patience, creativity, and problem-
solving skills. It also helps students develop time management, financial
management, and planning skills, which in turn helps them become more mature
and independent.

14
Moreover, the field trip is also an opportunity for students to learn about and
explore the culture, history, and life of different regions, thereby arousing their
curiosity and desire to discover.
In summary, the field trip is a wonderful experience for students. It not only
helps students learn practical knowledge and develop soft skills but also helps
them develop themselves and create memorable experiences. It is hoped that the
field trip will continue to be organized and developed in the future to bring more
value to future generations of students.
