Tip!
Use a stitch marker or safety pin to keep track of where the round begins. A wooden
chopstick is perfect to use to get the piece thoroughly stuffed ☺
Watermelon (make 2)
You start by working the bottom with Malachite Green yarn.
Ch 14 and begin in 2nd ch from hook.
R 1: 12 sc, 3 sc in same st, 11 sc, inc 1 st (28),
R 2: inc 1 st, 11 sc, inc 1 st, 1 sc, inc 1 st, 11 sc, inc 1 st, 1 sc (32),
R 3: 1 sc, inc 1 st, 12 sc, inc 1 st, 2 sc, inc 1 st, 12 sc, inc 1 st, 1 sc (36),
R 4: 2 sc, inc 1 st, 13 sc, inc 1 st, 3 sc, inc 1 st, 13 sc, inc 1 st, 1 sc (40),
R 5: work 1 sc in each st (40).
Change to Dusty Lime
R 6-7: work 1 sc in each st (2 rounds, 40)
Change to white
R 8: work 1 sc in each st (40)
Change to Petunia Pink
R 9: work 1 sc in each st (40),
R 10: 2 sc, dec 1 st, 13 sc, dec 1 st, 3 sc, dec 1 st, 13 sc, a dec 1 st, 1 sc (36),
R 11-13: work 1 sc in each st (3 rounds, 36),
R 14: 2 sc, dec 1 st, 12 sc, dec 1 st, 2 sc, dec 1 st, 12 sc, dec 1 st (32),
R 15-16: work 1 sc in each st (2 rounds, 32),
Now you embroider the mouth and cheeks and fasten the eyes.
Embroider the mouth as a “V” in the middle of round 10. Attach the eyes in between round
11 and 12. Embroider little cheeks on the outside of each eye (see photo).
R 17: dec 1 st, 1 sc, dec 1 st, 11 sc, dec 1 st, 1 sc, dec 1 st, 11 sc (28),
R 18–19: work 1 sc in each st (2 rounds, 28).
Stuff the watermelon continuously as the hole gets smaller.
R 20: dec 1 st, dec 1 st, 10 sc, dec 1 st, dec 1 st, 10 sc (24),
R 21–22: work 1 sc in each st (2 rounds, 24),
R 23: [2 sc, dec 1 st] 6 times (18),
R 24: work 1 sc in each st (18),
R 25: [1 sc, dec 1 st] 6 times (12),
R 26: [dec 1 st] 6 times (6),
Sew the hole together and weave in all ends.

Embroider little black seeds on the watermelon.
Lemon
With Light Green
Begin by making a magic ring.
R 1: work 6 sc in ring (6),
R 2: 6 sc (6),
Change to yellow
R 3: [ inc 1 st] 6 times (12),
R 4: 12 sc (12),
R 5: [1 sc, inc 1 st] 6 times (18),
R 6: [2 sc, inc 1 st] 6 times (24),
R 7: 24 sc (24),
R 8: [3 sc, inc 1 st] 6 times (30),
R 9: [4 sc, inc 1 st] 6 times (36),
R 10: 36 sc (36),
R 11: [5 sc, inc 1 st] 6 times (42),
R 12-19: 42 sc (8 rounds, 42),
R 20: [5 sc, dec 1 st] 6 times (36),
R 21: 36 sc (36),
R 22: [4 sc, dec 1 st] 6 times (30),

Now embroider eyes, mouth and cheeks on the lemon. See photos below.
R 24: [3 sc, dec 1 st] 6 times (24),
Stuff the lemon continuously as the hole gets smaller.
R 25: [2 sc, dec 1 st] 6 times (18),
R 26: 18 sc (18),
R 27: [1 sc, dec 1 st] 6 times (12),
R 28: 12 sc (12),
R 29: [ dec 1 st] 6 times (6).
Sew the hole together and weave in all ends.
Balls (make 8 st)

With Light turquoise
Begin by making a magic ring.
R 1: work 6 sc in ring,
R 2: [ inc 1 st] 6 times (12),
R 3: [1 sc, inc 1 st] 6 times (18),
R 4-6: 3 rounds sc (18),
R 7: [1 sc, dec 1 st] 6 times (12),
Stuff the balls continuously.
R 8: [ dec 1 st] 6 times (6)
Break yarn and weave in ends.
Assembly
Thread the nylon thread on a long sewing needle.
Begin by pulling the thread through 2 turquoise balls. Take a watermelon and pull through.
Hereafter pull the thread through 3 balls. Take the lemon and pull through.
Now pull the thread through 3 turquoise balls again. Take the last watermelon and pull
through.
Finish with the 2 last balls.
Now all balls and fruit are hanging on the nylon thread.
Take a wooden clip and attach it with a solid knot on the end of the chain (See the photos
below).
To ensure that the pram chain is really secure, you need to pull the nylon thread back
through all parts one more time. Make sure you have enough thread to get back to the
starting point.
When you are back where you started, you attach the second wooden clip.
Make sure all balls and fruit are steady and secure before you attach the second clip.
When you are happy with the result, you weave in all ends!
