SCOPE AND PRINCIPLE
Scope:
• To determine the fastness of colored fabrics to the effects of acid perspiration. Applicable to dyed,
printed or otherwise colored textiles fibers ,yarns and fabrics of all kinds.

Principle
• The colored specimen sew with multi-fiber, which is wet out in simulated acid perspiration solution,
and then subjected to a fixed mechanical pressure and allowed to dry slowly at a slightly elevated
temperature. The change in color of specimen and the staining of attached multi-fiber are observed.

Terminology
• Perspiration: A saline fluid secreted by the sweat glands.

TEST PROCEDURE

The pH of the acid perspiration solution

should be 4.3 +/- 0.2 .

Prepare a new one if outside the range.

1. Immerse the specimen in the perspiration solution to ensure thorough wetting out for 30 minutes
