Important Update - Perpetual (EOEM) VMware License EOL For VxRail
View Online
As you are aware, on December 11, 2023, Broadcom announced its transition from
perpetual licensing to a subscription model, together with a simplified portfolio. As a
result of this announcement and other recent developments, we are announcing
changes in our VxRail and VCF on VxRail product licensing structure.
1. Effective March 22nd, VxRail and VCF on VxRail orders with VMware eOEM
perpetual licensed software can only be transacted with a maximum 3-year
VMware software and hardware support term.
2. Effective April 30, 2024, the VMware perpetual licenses available on VxRail and
VCF on VxRail (VoV) will conclude their lifecycle and will no longer be available
for purchase (“EOL Date”).
3. Orders placed post EOL Date and any order with more than a 3-year term for
software and support will not be accepted. Ensure that orders are conforming
and are placed with Dell prior to the April 30, 2024 deadline.
4. Effective March 22nd, VxRail/VoV support renewals with perpetual VMware
licenses are no longer available. VxRail/VoV VMware hardware support
renewals with vSAN embedded software cannot be accepted and need to
be requoted with hardware only.
Note:
We understand this transition may generate questions from your customers and we
will provide further guidance to assist in your customer interactions in the
forthcoming weeks.
