Introduction

In this project we will be looking at the result of the Percentages of lactic acid converts to
various substances. The process where cells derive energy from glucose is Cellular
respiration.The objective of the nourishment
Is to change the energy in chemical bonds to ATP
Which is short for Adenosine triphosphate.ATP captures The chemical energy from pieces of
the food molecules And releases it for other cellular processes.
Cellular respiration is part of a metabolic pathway On earth. It contains 4 steps which is
Glycolysis, Pyruvate oxidation, Citric acid cycle, Oxidative Phosphorylation. It also has an
equation which Requires oxygen and glucose to form ATP, water And carbon dioxide.
What is lac#c acid?
Lactic acid is a product produced when your Body is in a process of a metabolic process of
Glycolysis or when glucose is turned into energy. It occurs in your skeletal muscles which is
the Muscle cells and red blood cells. It’s produced in The cytoplasm of an animal cell.

Aim:
The aim of this research is to see which amount of lactic acid that is Converted into other
various substances is high.

Discussion:
The percentage of Carbon dioxide produced is the highest out of the Other substances
produced and this is because the more the athlete Runs the lower the oxygen levels get and
the higher the carbon dioxide Is consumed
Effects of lactic acid production:
•Weakness
•burning sensation in muscles •cramping
•shortness of breath
Solutions that help minimise the production of lactic acid in the body:
Our bodies naturally get rid of lactic acid through metabolism
But a way to minimise the production of it is to exercise less Because when you do the
demand for ATP is high and oxygen Levels are low.Drink water and milk and consume
bananas and Anything that has magnesium that also helps fight off the production Of lactic
acid in the body.

Conclusion:
The highest percentage of the substance converted by lactic acid is carbon dioxide

Trend:
As various substances are produced the amount of lactic Acid converted is low
