Sphygmomanometer , Sahli’s Haemogloinometer(Already discussed)

Neubauer’s Slide

The hemocytometer (or haemocytometer) is a counting-chamber device originally designed and usually
used for counting blood cells.

The hemocytometer was invented by Louis-Charles Malassez and consists of a thick glass microscope
slide with a rectangular indentation that creates a precision volume chamber.

This chamber is engraved with a laser-etched grid of perpendicular lines.

1
By observing a defined area of the grid, it is therefore possible to count the number of cells or particles in
a specific volume of fluid, and thereby calculate the concentration of cells in the fluid overall.

A well used type of hemocytometer is the Neubauer counting chamber

The RBC pipette

 RBC pipette has red bead in the bulb and it has marking of 0.5, 1 and 101.
 There's a red bead present on the pipette.Helps in identification of pipette
 Bead helps in mixing of diluting fluid and blood
 The RBC pipette is the diluting pipette used in dilute blood ratio of '1:100' or '1:200' in the
Hemocytometer.
 It has been used in chemistry, biology & medicine as a laboratory instrument.

WBC pipette

2
 WBC pipette has white bead in the bulb and it has marking of 0.5, 1 and 11.
 Dilution is 1:20
 It can be used for eosinophil count, platelet count, sperm count. Cell count in CSF, pleural / ascetic
fluid and RBC count in severe anemia

Bone Hammer

 Bone Hammer is an orthopedic surgical instrument commonly used by orthopedic surgeons to

impact or exert force on joints, muscle, tendons, ligaments etc.

3
 Its is an instrument used by physicians to test deep tendon reflexes. Which is an important part of
the neurological examination in order to detect abnormalities in the nervous system
 Bone Hammer has a Fibre handle to provide convenient handgrip.

Glucometer test strips

 Glucometer test strips are an easy way to test your blood sugar, aka your glucose levels.
 This is important for people with diabetes.
 The strips work with glucose meters to “read” your blood sugar levels.
 Knowing your blood sugar levels helps you manage your disease.

Stethoscope
The stethoscope is an acoustic medical device for auscultation, or listening to internal sounds of an animal or
human body.

It typically has a small disc-shaped resonator that is placed against the skin, and one or two tubes connected to two
earpieces.

A stethoscope can be used to listen to the sounds made by the heart, lungs or intestines, as well as blood flow in
arteries and veins.

In combination with a manual sphygmomanometer, it is commonly used when measuring blood pressure.
